The new standard
in dog training.

Montreal-based animal expert Jordan Schacter now brings the new standard in dog training directly to Westmount families. Whether your dog pulls on Sherbrooke Street W., reacts to cyclists on Greene Avenue, or struggles to stay calm around other dogs in Westmount Park, our science-based, positive-reinforcement programs deliver fast, lasting results — in your home or at our 6-acre Hank’s House facility.

The new standard
in dog training.

Hank’s House is a modern 6-acre private home nestled in the woods of Saint-Hippolyte. We specialized in high-quality animal care for a small number of dogs. Regardless of their training level, dogs will have access to our secured forest run, as well as our private river and lake Echo for the more experienced swimmers. We are a short walk away from many hiking trails that we explore daily. Hank’s House is a calm and happy place that puppies and seniors alike can enjoy together by making sure all dogs’ energy needs are fully met.

Frequently Asked Questions.

We understand that dog training can raise a lot of questions. At Montreal Dogs, we are committed to providing you with all the information you need to make the best decisions for your dog’s growth and well-being. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you have any other inquiries, feel free to reach out—We’re here to help!

How long does the training program take?

Every training program is tailored to the individual dog, their history, and your goals. Many clients notice meaningful improvement after just one session — whether in-person or virtual. For long-term success, I provide a structured plan to ensure sustainable, lasting results.

Do I need to be present during the training sessions?

For the best results, I encourage all household members who interact with the dog to be present during the session. Consistency is key, and having everyone on the same page helps set your dog up for success.

What age should my dog be to start training?

Training can begin as early as 8 weeks. Puppies are constantly learning, and early socialization and positive habit-building make a significant difference. That said, dogs of any age can benefit from training — it is never too late to start.

Do you offer any guarantees with the training?

While no trainer can ethically guarantee behavioral outcomes, I do guarantee your satisfaction.
If you are not fully satisfied with the value of your first virtual or in-person session, I will issue a 100% refund — no questions asked.

Is the training based on positive reinforcement?

My approach is grounded in modern, science-based methods focusing on positive reinforcement and clear communication. Together, we build trust and confidence in your dog while reinforcing desirable behaviors in a structured, supportive way.

What if my dog has behavioral issues like aggression or anxiety?

I specialize in complex behavioral cases, including aggression, reactivity, fear, and anxiety.
As a certified behavior analyst and expert dog trainer, I approach these challenges with patience, structure, and evidence-based techniques to help your dog feel safer, calmer, and more confident.

Can I train my dog at home without attending sessions?

Yes. Virtual training is a highly effective option that allows you to begin implementing solutions immediately from home. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance and ongoing support to ensure progress between sessions.
